Phillip G. Bernstein

Phil Bernstein, FAIA, is Deputy Dean and Professor in the Practice at the Yale School of Architecture. He is a former vice president at Autodesk, where he was responsible for the company’s Building Information Modeling strategy, including development of the Revit platform. Prior to Autodesk, he practiced at Cesar Pelli & Associates, where he managed complex commissions for clients including the Mayo Clinic, Washington National Airport, and Goldman Sachs.

He writes and lectures extensively on architectural practice, technology, project delivery, and architectural agency. His books include Architecture Design Data: Practice Competency in the Era of Computation and Machine Learning: Architecture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.

He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, a member of the College of Distinguished Professors of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and a former Chair of the AIA Contract Documents Committee.
